“GOT”: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau teases big Jaime-Cersei-Brienne development

PanARMENIAN.Net - When Nikolaj Coster-Waldau attended South by Southwest Festival to promote "Small Crimes", The Daily Beast caught up with him and asked him some questions regarding the upcoming "Game of Thrones" season 7. The actor, who depicts Jaime Lannister on the hit HBO series, gladly answered the questions and even teased a big Jaime-Brienne-Cersei development, AceShowbiz reports.

In the interview, the Danish actor said his loyalty to his sister Cersei (Lena Headey) would seemingly stay the same. "Jaime's addicted to something-almost institutionalized by a situation to where there is no other way. For Jaime, there is no other way. He's been groomed since he was 15 that, whatever his life is, it starts and ends with Cersei. He has to accommodate her," the actor revealed.

However, things may be a little different as Cersei is not the only woman that comes into Jaime's life. There is also Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), the woman who became something like his best friend throughout the past few seasons. Their relationship seemingly will grow to be as important as Jaime's relationship with Cersei. Speaking of Brienne, Niko said, "It's built out of contempt, which has turned into real respect, and love-not that they would ever use that word. I think they feel very strongly for each other."

However, he later added that it seemed like all would eventually come to Cersei. "I have no idea if they would ever be able to act on it, and I don’t think they would. It’s all been about Cersei his whole life," said the actor.

While discussing about his unthinking devotion to his sister, Niko almost spoiled a major season 7 plot, teasing a possible new suitor for Queen Cersei. He said, "Plus, there are no other suitors. Well, that's not true… but he has to step up and take his father's place. Wow, I was about to reveal something from Season 7 and thought, 'What am I doing?' " Fans speculate that the new suitor may refer to Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek) who wants to team up with Cersei against the Starks.

The prophecy of the Valonqar was also brought up into the discussion. Young Cersei received a prophecy from Maggy the frog which said that all of her children would die and she would be killed at the hands of the Valonqar, which is the word of "little brother" in High Valyrian.

As the first prophecy was proven true, fans are assuming that the Valonqar prophecy will soon come true and the Kingslayer will fulfill the prophecy and bring an end to his own twin sister to save Brienne. In response to the fan popular theory, Niko simply grinned and said, "That's a great theory." In a previous interview, though, Niko said the Jaime-kills-Cersei idea was too obvious.
