“This Is Us” ups two actors to series regulars for season 2

PanARMENIAN.Net - Fans of "This Is Us" will be seeing more of Miguel and Sophie when the breakout series returns for season 2. Actors Jon Huertas and Alexandra Breckenridge have been promoted to series regular for the upcoming sophomore season after playing recurring characters Miguel and Sophie respectively, AceShowbiz said.

Jon appeared in 11 episodes of the first season, first introduced as Jack's (Milo Ventimiglia) best friend Miguel. Miguel later has been at the center of the series' one of the biggest secrets. People are wondering how Miguel and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) got together after Jack's death.

Alexandra, meanwhile, guest-starred in 5 episodes in the first season of the series. She played Sophie, Kate's (Chrissy Metz) childhood best friend and Kevin's (Justin Hartley) childhood crush and New York-based ex-wife. Kevin and Sophie were reconnecting their romance, though things went vague when Kevin reluctantly jetted to L.A. in pursuit of an opportunity to star in a Ron Howard film.

Jon and Alexandra will join the show's core cast of eight series regulars including Milo, Mandy, Chrissy, Justin, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Sullivan and Ron Cephas Jones. Previously, creator Dan Fogelman revealed that season 2 premiere would hold "a huge piece of the puzzle" regarding Jack's death.

"This Is Us" returns for season 2 on September 26 at 9 P.M. on NBC.
