Armenia president dreams of remaining in charge: opposition partyJuly 25, 2017 - 18:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - President Serzh Sargsyan is dreaming of remaining at the helm of Armenia after his term ends in 2018, leader of Yerkir Tsirani (Land of Apricot) party, former lawmaker Zaruhi Postanjyan told RFE/RL Armenian Service. “It’s only a matter of time for him to realize that,” Postanjyan said. “The thing is not about the methods he is going to use to continue his grip and seize power,” the former MP said, adding that “we should prevent such a scenario from happening and overthrow the Republican party and all the other parties serving RPA.” Also, Postanjyan described the Yelk bloc - which claims to be an opposition force - as 'a mouthpiece for the Armenian authorities.' An opposition party, Yerkir Tsirani was created several months ago, with five of its members making it to the Yerevan City Council in recent municipal elections.
