Armenia: Yelk urges rival opposition party to stop “the witch hunt”

PanARMENIAN.Net - The opposition Yelk bloc on Wednesday, July 26 urged Yerkir Tsirani (Land of Apricot) party leader Zaruhi Postanjyan to stop "the witch hunt”, RFE/RL Armenian Service reports.

Postanjyan had on Tuesday described the Yelk bloc as 'a mouthpiece for the Armenian authorities.'

Alen Simonyan from Yelk argued on Wednesday that “a witch hunt among opposition forces would only strengthen the authorities' positions.”

According to Simonyan, the opposition activity is not limited to emotional outbursts, but contains specific measures that will lead to a regime change.

“The union is in the stage formation and certain issues have yet to be regulated,” Aravot cited her as saying on Thursday, July 27.
Postanjyan reaffirmed her position, claiming that Yelk’s previous choices in parliament "have stemmed from Serzh Sargsyan’s interests.”
ANC deputy chairman Levon Zurabyan said that president Serzh Sargsyan is the most active representative of the ruling Republican party.
The issue of leaving the coalition is off Armenian Revolutionary Federation - Dashnaktsutyun's agenda, Davit Lokyan said.
