Denis Villeneuve among frontrunners to helm “Bond 25”July 27, 2017 - 11:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Following the announcement of "Bond 25" coming out in the U.S. on November 8, 2019, a new report has emerged revealing the director shortlist. As AceShowbiz reports citing Deadline, Yann Demange, Denis Villeneuve and David Mackenzie are the frontrunners to helm the upcoming James Bond movie. Demange directed the indie hit called "'71". The electric thriller starring Jack O'Connell was released in 2014. Demange is currently directing "White Boy Rick", with Matthew McConaughey leading the ensemble. Meanwhile, Villeneuve is coming off Oscar-nominated "Arrival" and upcoming Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling-starring flick "Blade Runner 2049", which is due out on October 6. The filmmaker might have a scheduling conflict as he's currently making the "Dune" reboot for Legendary. As for Mackenzie, he directed last year's "Hell or High Water", which was nominated for Best Picture at the 2017 Oscars. He's currently attached to direct "Outlaw King", a movie about Robert The Bruce which stars Chris Pine. The three filmmakers reportedly have had meetings with the producers. With Villeneuve and Mackenzie both attached to their projects, Demange might emerge as the potential helmer for the next James Bond movie which sees the return of Daniel Craig. Should it happen, Demange will direct the pic from a script by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
