Armenia opposition party says has no partners in political arena

PanARMENIAN.Net - Leader of the opposition party Yerkir Tsirani (Land of Apricot) Zaruhi Postanjyan said on Thursday, July 27 they have no partners in the political area, Aravot.am reports.

The party only cooperates with “citizens, representing the oppositional sector of the society,” she told a press conference.

An opposition party, Yerkir Tsirani was created several months ago, with five of its members making it to the Yerevan City Council in recent municipal elections.

Postanjyan had on Tuesday described the opposition Yelk bloc as "a mouthpiece for the Armenian authorities," after which the bloc had urged the former lawmaker “to stop the witch hunt.”

On Thursday, Postanjyan reaffirmed her position, claiming that Yelk’s previous choices in parliament "have stemmed from (president) Serzh Sargsyan’s interests.”
