Saoirse Ronan gets angsty in first

PanARMENIAN.Net - The first flock of images from Greta Gerwig’s "Lady Bird" have flown the coop of secrecy.

Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan occupies the inaugural batch of stills from the upcoming drama, which will mark Gerwig’s solo directorial debut when it premieres on the fall festival circuit later this year, EW reveals.

Sitting on a flannel sofa, Ronan wears what appears to be a school uniform in the first photo, while she’s wrapped in a towel while conversing with a character played by Laurie Metcalf in the second.

Little is known about the film’s plot, though it reportedly revolves around a young woman (Ronan) who spends a year living in Northern California. In addition to Metcalf, "Call Me By Your Name" star Timothée Chalamet also has a supporting role alongside "The Lovers"‘ Tracy Letts and Academy Award-nominated "Manchester by the Sea" breakout Lucas Hedges.

A24 has dated "Lady Bird" for theatrical release on Nov. 10, following its international premiere at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival in September and subsequent screening at the New York Film Festival in October. Though it has yet to be formally announced, the film is expected to world-premiere at the Telluride Film Festival over Labor Day weekend before traversing the impending awards race in the weeks ahead.
