Evangeline Lilly‏ unveils her The Wasp suit in fresh picture

PanARMENIAN.Net - Evangeline Lilly‏ on Monday, August 28 suited up to celebrate late comic book artist Jack Kirby's 100th birthday, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Lilly shared the first photo of herself wearing her Wasp costume for 2018's "Ant-Man and the Wasp", in which she stars opposite Paul Rudd, who plays Ant-Man.

Kirby co-created Janet van Dyne (the original Wasp) along with Stan Lee back in 1963. Lilly plays Hope, the daughter of Janet van Dyne and Hank Pym (the original Ant-Man), and though her character was actually created by writer Tom DeFalco and artist Ron Frenz in 1999, like most things in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she traces her origins back to Kirby.

"I am honoured to be on set today playing #TheWasp on what would be Jack Kirby's 100th birthday," tweeted Lilly, along with a photo of herself in the suit.

Lilly's Wasp suit was first glimpsed at the end of 2015's Ant-Man, and Marvel revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that the film would also include original Wasp Janet van Dyne, to be played by Michelle Pfeiffer. Peyton Reed is once again in the director's chair, with Michael Douglas returning as Hank Pym. Laurence Fishburne is joining the series as Bill Foster, who, in the comics, worked as a scientist alongside Hank and later became a size-changing superhero in his own right, initially as Black Goliath and then as Giant-Man.

Ant-Man and the Wasp film is set to open July 6, 2018, two months after the bow of Avengers: Infinity War.
