Arsenal, United to confirm 'Sanchez - Mkhitaryan straight swap' soon

PanARMENIAN.Net - BBC Sports News correspondent David Ornstein claims that Arsenal and Manchester United will confirm the deal for Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Gunners forward Alexis Sanchez on Monday or Tuesday (January 22-23).

Manchester United and Arsenal "confirmation of Sanchez/Mkhitaryan swap Mon/Tue as work permits need updating," the journalist said in a tweet.

In an earlier tweet, Ornstein said that the Mkhitaryan-Sanchez deal is a straight swap and that no money is involved.

"Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan agrees move to Arsenal in a deal that will see Gunners forward Alexis Sanchez go opposite way. It’s a straight swap, no money involved. Paperwork complete, Mkhitaryan will undergo a medical over the next 2 days," the BBC correspondent tweeted.

Mkhitaryan reportedly said a tearful farewell to his Manchester United team-mates and club staff on Friday, January 19 lunchtime as the final obstacle to United signing Sanchez was removed.

The Armenia international, by the way, turns 29 on Monday.
