Restriction of media work temporary

PanARMENIAN.Net - Restrictions imposed on media activities are temporary, RA President's spokesman Victor Soghomonyan told a briefing in Yerevan.

"I do not agree with the opinion that we close independent media. The emergency rule supposes limitations. Many editorial offices refuse to work, for they can't observe the presidential edict," he said.

Under the RA President's edict of March 1, 2008, media publications on domestic affairs are restricted to official coverage. Political propaganda via circulation of leaflets or any other means is banned without permission of state bodies.
