Game of Thrones: Jon Snow could receive support from unlikely ally

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Game of Thrones" Jon Snow may find himself with an unlikely ally in the finale season, all due to the lineage he doesn’t yet know about, Express reports.

In the season seven "Game of Thrones" finale, Jon Snow’s (played by Kit Harington) true birth parents were uncovered by Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and Samwell Tarly (John Bradley).

Although he is yet to find out he is really the offspring of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, it could play to his advantage in the HBO finale.

One fan has theorised that the Golden Company, the sellswords, may turn out to assist Jon if he needs them in battle.

The theory stems from the assumption that Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) will recruit the mercenaries from across the seas.

Reddit user pantherpowell88 wrote: “I have not read the books but isn't the Golden Company loyal to the Targaryens or have Targaryen connections in some way?

“If so I am guessing Dany maybe isn't at the final battle with Jon vs Cersei (my prediction - whether she is pregnant dead idk) and Euron shows up with the Golden Company to have Jon dead to rights.

“In the midst of their conversations they mention on the side they don't care that he is Rhaegar's son etc. (has a claim to the throne) which perks the ears of the Golden Company and they turn the tide and help Jon defeat Cersei and Euron.”

Could the Golden Company betray those whom they have been hired by?

Other fans don’t think so, especially given there is historically some bad blood between them and the Targaryens.

One viewers replied: “Their founder is Aegor Rivers, better known as Bittersteel, a staunch supporter of the Blackfyres, a legitimized bastard cadet branch of the Targaryens.

“They fought against the Targaryens rather than for them.”

So, it looks like fans will have to wait and see if it really does unfold in the final series.

Fans don’t have long to wait now until the next season begins.

The show is set to be put on sometime in April, but a specific date is yet to be announced.

There have been all sorts of rumours about what will happen in the bitter end.
