Armenia is buying Su-30SM fighter jets from Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian army has acquired “peace-bringing” Su-30SM multirole fighters from Russia, lawmaker Armen Pambukhchyan said in a Facebook post Wednesday, January 30.

According to Pambikhchyan, a corresponding agreement has already been signed with the Russian side.

The Defense Ministry told PanARMENIAN.Net earlier that Armenia’s possible acquisition JAS-39 Gripen fighter aircraft manufactured by the Swedish aerospace company Saab is currently under discussion.

According to the Ministry, Armenia is also considering the purchase of fighter jets produced in other countries in order to create a multifunctional air force.
