Group of Azerbaijanis attack, beat young Armenian in Georgia

PanARMENIAN.Net - A group of Azerbaijanis have attacked a young Armenian in the Georgian city of Sadakhlo, Aliq Media journalist Norayr Gasparyan has revealed.

"The Azerbaijanis mobbed and beat a young Armenian in Sadakhlo and fled the scene. The incident took place near the district police station," Jnews.am cited the journalist as saying.

According to the reporter, "outside forces" are trying to destabilize the situation.

The situation on the border between the two countries escalated on July 12, with Azerbaijan launching several unsuccessful infiltration attempts throughout the next week. The Azerbaijani military also used artillery and combat drones to target civilian homes in several border settlements in Armenia. Five servicemen of the Armenian army were killed, while Azerbaijan reported 12 deaths.

The border unrest has resulted in clashes abroad, with groups of Azerbaijanis attacking Armenians and cars with Armenian license plates.
