Armenia negotiating purchase of more Su-30 aircraft from RussiaAugust 31, 2020 - 14:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is negotiating with Russia over the acquisition of a new batch of Su-30SM fighter aircraft, Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan told RFE/RL Armenian Service on Sunday, August 30. The announcement comes days after the Russian side said Moscow is ready to discuss with Armenia the supply of another batch of -30SM fighter jets Maria Vorobyova, a representative for the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) of Russia, said they are working with the Armenian side on the matter. After buying four Su-30SM fighters in 2019, Armenia has signalled plans to purchase more aircraft from Russia. As reported earlier, Yerevan and Moscow have signed a new agreement which will see the modernization of four Su-25 jets.
