 India sets global record with over 90,000 one-day cases September 7, 2020 - 15:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - India has confirmed 90,632 coronavirus cases in 24 hours, a global high for the number of infections recorded in a single day, The Guardian reports. India has 4,113,811 cases in total, and has recorded 70,626 deaths. The staggering total takes the number of coronavirus cases worldwide past 27m, according to the Johns Hopkins University tracker, which relies on official government figures. The true number of cases worldwide is likely to be significantly higher, due to differing testing rates and definitions, delays and suspected underreporting. India now has the fastest growing Covid-19 infection rate in the world, and is only 100,000 cases behind Brazil, the second worst-affected country in the world.
