Armenians block Spain–France highway to demand Karabakh recognition

PanARMENIAN.Net - Diaspora Armenian protesters blocked the highway connecting Spain and France on Saturday, October 24, demanding that Spain recognize Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).

The demonstrators were waving the flags of Armenia and Artsakh and chanting "Erdogan terrorist". Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is supporting Baku military and has deployed thousands of terrorist mercenaries in Azerbaijan.

Days earlier, the Parliament of Catalonia condemned the attacks by Azerbaijan against the civilian population of Artsakh. The legislature of the autonomous community urged the parties to resume negotiations for reaching a peaceful solution to the conflict, which should be "based on the will of the majority of the citizens of Artsakh."

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
