Formula 1 racer Verstappen donates to Armenia's insurance fund for soldiers

PanARMENIAN.Net - Renowned Formula 1 racer Max Verstappen from The Netherlands has made a donation to Armenia's Insurance Foundation for Servicemen, the Foundation said on Facebook.

Verstappen came in the 3rd place in the Portuguese GP on Sunday, October 26. To celebrate his victory he donated $100 to the foundation and left a note on the website: "I couldn’t enjoy today’s victory without making a donation to the fund of Armenian soldiers’ insurance, who sacrifice their lives for their homeland every single day!"

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and Syrian and Libyan mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.

Donations can be made to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, which has launched a fundraising campaign to support humanitarian efforts in Karabakh.
