Lavrov: Russian delegation working on humanitarian response in Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - A Russian delegation that arrived in Yerevan on Saturday, November 21 will discuss the establishment of an interdepartmental center for humanitarian response in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well issues of economic cooperation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Saturday, according to RIA Novosti.

"We are interested in looking at the whole range of our relations, after a statement was adopted by the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia on November 9 following protracted negotiations, which put an end to the bloodshed and created an opportunity for stabilizing the situation," Lavrov said, adding that the Russian peacekeepers are actively involved in the implementation of the agreement, including the provision of humanitarian assistance.

"We will also be discussing issues related to the creation of an interdepartmental center for humanitarian response, which will help meet the needs of the civilian population, restore civilian infrastructure."

Lavrov added that issues of economic interaction, cooperation in the energy sector will be discussed in Yerevan as well.

Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev have signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Karabakh (Artsakh) President Arayik Harutyunyan has said he has agreed to the deal signed by Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.
