Top Armenian officials receive first doze of AztraZeneca vaccine

PanARMENIAN.Net - Acting Deputy Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan and Acting Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan have received their first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, Aysor.am reports.

Avinyan told reporters on Wednesday, April 28 that they have specifically chosen the AstraZeneca jab due to misconceptions among the public about the vaccine's efficiency.

Avanesyan revealed, meanwhile, that everyone interested will be able to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine. The Acting Health Minister also said that Chinese-made jabs will arrive in the country next week and will be available to persons aged over 18.

Armenia launched its vaccination program on April 13. People aged over 65, those who have underlying health conditions, medical workers, residents and staff of elderly care centers, as well as social care center employees will be inoculated in the first phase of the country's vaccination program.
