Ministry: Armenians, Azerbaijanis involved in argument on the border

PanARMENIAN.Net - An argument between Armenian and Azerbaijani servicemen took place near the Sev Lake in the province of Syunik because of videos of earlier clashes between the troops of the two countries spreading online, the Defense Ministry reports. The incident was settled by the the command staff, the Ministry added.

On the morning of May 12, the armed forces of Azerbaijan violated the border of Armenia in the southern province of Syunik, advancing 3.5 kilometers and surrounding Sev Lake, which is situated on the border between the two countries but is predominantly a part of Armenia. On May 13, the Azerbaijani military committed more border violations against Armenia, advancing near Vardenis (Gegharkunik province) and Sisian (Syunik province).

The Armenian Defense department also said the situation hasn't changed "significantly", though some media reports suggest Azerbaijanis have violated the Armenian border in a fourth area.

The Defense Ministry noted that the south of the country is "generally stable", with Armenian troops controlling the situation.
