Pashinyan will travel to France, Belgium on June 1-2

PanARMENIAN.Net - Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will pay a working visit to France and Belgium on June 1 and 2, his office said on Monday, May 31.

Pashinyan is expected to hold meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, President of the National Assembly Richard Ferrand and President of the Senate Gérard Larcher in Paris on June 1.

The next day, the acting PM will meet with President of the European Council Charles Michel, as well as Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo.

Pashinyan's trip comes amid unrest on the border with Azerbaijan. On the morning of May 12, the armed forces of Azerbaijan violated the border of Armenia in the southern province of Syunik, advancing 3.5 kilometers and surrounding Sev Lake, which is situated on the border between the two countries but is predominantly a part of Armenia. On May 13, the Azerbaijani military committed more border violations against Armenia, advancing near Vardenis (Gegharkunik province) and Sisian (Syunik province). One Armenian serviceman was killed in Azerbaijan’s shooting on May 25, while six others were captured on May 27.
