Kocharyan says will offer Karen Karapetyan to return to Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Leader of Hayastan (Armenia) bloc, second President Robert Kocharyan has said he will offer former Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan to return to Armenia in the event of his victory in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

His comments came one day after Karapetyan issued a statement to express his support for Kocharyan's bloc, which is comprised of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and Reborn Armenia party.

During an interview with Russian media, Kocharyan said he regularly communicates with Karapetyan.

"I regret that he left. I think what happened then was just wrong. There will be an offer on my part," Kocharyan said.

Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on March 18 that Armenia will hold snap parliamentary elections on June 20. The PM came under fire after signing a statement with the Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents to end the war in Nagorno-Karabakh almost 45 days after the start of the military hostilities. Under the deal, the Armenian side was forced to return all the regions surrounding Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
