France hopes elections will enable Armenia to face challenges

PanARMENIAN.Net - France hopes that recent elections to the National Assembly will enable Armenia to overcome the many challenges it is facing, the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs has said in a statement.

Caretaker Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party won 53.92% of the vote, while Hayastan (Armenia) bloc headed by second President Robert Kocharyan secured 21.4% of the ballots. "I Have Honor" bloc too will get seats in the parliament.

Noting the victory of Pashinyan's Civil Contract party, France reaffirmed its determination to stand by Armenia in the process of addressing its challenges, as well as its unwavering support for the sovereignty, the territorial integrity of Armenia and the strengthening of its democratic institutions.

"France takes note of the preliminary findings of the election observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) on the satisfactory conduct of the elections," the statement added.
