Mkhitaryan scores first goal since Morurinho joined Roma

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhtaryan on Saturday, August 14 scored his first goal since Jose Mourinho took over AS Roma in May.

Roma played their last friendly game before their season opener against Fiorentina this week, hosting Moroccan side Raja Casablanca at the Stadio Olimpico.

Mkhitaryan netted a goal on the 48th minute of the fixture and was replaced on the 71st.

Mkhitaryan spent 18 months under Mourinho at United between 2016 and 2018 before leaving for Arsenal in a swap deal for Alexis Sanchez after falling out of favour with the Portuguese boss. After struggling at Arsenal, the Armenian moved to Serie A with Roma where he has spent the last season-and-a-half and has now been joined by Mourinho after he was sacked by Tottenham in April.
