220,236 Covid vaccine doses administered in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - A total of 220,236 doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been administered in Armenia since the beginning of the vaccination program in the country, the Ministry of Health said on Monday, August 16.

Armenia is currently using AstraZeneca, Sputnik-V and CoronaVac vaccines to inoculate people aged above 18. The vaccination program rolled out across the country in mid-April, with health authorities also setting up mobile vaccination facilities near shopping malls and on major streets in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

Foreigners currently residing in Armenia and tourists too can receive the jabs free of charge. Beginning from July 15, however, travelers will need to spend 10 days in the country to become eligible for the shots.

The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Armenia grew by 256 to reach 234,814 on Monday morning. So far, 222,801 people have recovered, 4685 have died from the coronavirus in the country, while 1136 others carrying the virus have died from other causes.
