Armenia, Russia negotiating new air defense pact

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia and Russia are negotiating a new agreement on the establishment of a unified regional air defense system, Deputy Chairman of the Air Defense Coordination Committee under the CIS Defense Ministers’ Council Colonel-General Yuri Grekhov said on August 31.

Grekhov noted that "a draft agreement on the creation of a unified regional air defense system of Russia and Kyrgyzstan is currently being coordinated." Upon completion, the draft agreement will be signed by the defense ministers of the two countries.

According to him, "work continues on the practical implementation of agreements between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan."
