JustQR contactless payment system launched in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - JustQR, а financial system of contactless payments, has been launched as a result of cooperation between the financial subsidiary of the leading mobile operator of Armenia Viva-MTS, MobiDram, the company Future Payments Systems and Acba Bank.

From now on, the premium customers of MobiDram will get to make payments in stores and entertainment venues directly from their smartphones through the mobile application MobiDram, using the innovative system JustQR. One just has to click the button “JustQR payments” in the MobiDram mobile application and make a payment after scanning the QR-code.

“Our daily lives are almost completely transformed into digital. It’s not necessary to have money in cash anymore, as digital money has become the most relevant and convenient option for payments. By introducing the payment tool JustQR in the mobile wallet MobiDram, we have tried to make everyday life easier by making non-touch payments in seconds,” Kim Avanesyan, MobiDram General Director, said.

“The financial subsidiary of Viva-MTS “MobiDram” offers many payment tools directly from mobile phone. Innovation and keeping pace with time are the key conditions for digital transformation. Could you imagine the day when cash will no longer be required when shopping in a store, and instead, it would be possible to make contactless payments by scanning the QR-code from your mobile wallet? The new digital tool, created as a result of cooperation between “MobiDram”, JustQR and “Acba Bank”, is very convenient and has a great potential for wide application,” said Viva-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.

“We are pleased to launch the system JustQR jointly with Viva-MTS Financial Subsidiary MobiDram and Future Payment Systems. Acba Bank has long been working to reduce the use of cash amid the epidemic. Through this cooperation with our partners, we are taking a step forward. I hope that the system JustQR will fully serve the intended purpose,” said Hakob Andreasyan, the CEO of “Acba Bank”.

The advantages of making payments via QR-code are:

• complete contactless payment exclusively via smartphone, which is extremely important in the current epidemic situation;

• when making payments via QR-code, the customer can choose the MobiDram account or any of his bank cards attached to the MobiDram mobile application;

• The customer can use regular cashback promotions, which are instant refunds to the MobiDram account with a certain percentage of the amount paid.

“The time required to make payments via QR-code is not more than in case of payment by a bank card,” added Kim Avanesyan.

Payments via QR-code can be made in shops and entertainment places where “INGENICO POS” terminals, serving bank cards are located and where an information board on making payments through the system JustQR is posted.

During the event, JustQR system designer Konstantin Saroyan presented the main principles and features of the system. "There are several features. The use of the common EMV standard, the use of dynamic QR, as well as the fact that there is no change in business processes at points of sale, that is, the same POS terminals with which card transactions are carried out continue to be used. That is, no additional costs are assumed by the bank or point of sale. Another advantage is ease of distribution and affordability, as QR can be applied to any smartphone. One of the important features is that the JustQR system fully complies with the highest security standards and in this respect is not inferior to card transactions”.
