Armenia, Moldova agree to boost economic cooperation

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Moldovan President Maia Sandu have discussed the need to develop economic cooperation between the two countries.

The two met on Wednesday, December 15 on the sidelines of the Eastern Partnership summit in Brussels.

Pashinyan stressed the development of relations and praised Armenia's political dialogue with Moldova. He emphasized the need to develop economic cooperation, adding that there are good preconditions and necessary potential for that. According to the Prime Minister, the governments of the two countries should continue to work closely together to expand trade and economic ties, as well as to promote tourism, he added.

The President of Moldova stressed that his country is interested in deepening and strengthening relations with Armenia. Sandu noted the need to give a new impetus to economic and investment cooperation. In this regard, she considered it necessary to hold a business forum, which will contribute to the establishment of new contacts between business communities and the implementation of joint investment programs. The President also used the development of cooperation and exchange of experience in the process of institutional reforms, including the implementation of justice, anti-corruption, human rights reforms.
