  Ruben Melkonyan: Armenian-Turkish border won't be opened April 16April 7, 2009 - 22:08 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian-Turkish border won't be opened on April 16, an Armenian expert said. "Yerevan and Ankara will just sign a landmark declaration on normalization of bilateral relations," Ruben Melkonyan, specialist in Turkology, told a news conference in Yerevan. "During many years, presidential hopefuls pledged to recognize the Armenian Genocide but forgot about it later. Now, not only President Obama but also his administration holds a pro-Armenian stand," he said. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
