Statue of Charles Aznavour to be erected in FranceJuly 22, 2022 - 15:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A statue of late French-Armenian crooner Charles Aznavour will be erected in France, director of Aznavour Foundation Kristina Aznavour (Sarkisyan) said at a meeting with Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan on Friday, July 22. Aznavour revealed that the project of the statue is already ready. Besides, a large-scale concert and an exhibition dedicated to Aznavour's life will be arranged in France as well. The two met in Yerevan to discuss the program of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Aznavour (in 2024). Another statue celebrating the legend, this time in Yerevan, is under discussion. The director of Aznavour Foundation proposed holding all events in parallel with those in France, including the installation of the statue. Martirosyan responded that the Armenian side will gladly cooperate with the foundation in implementing the program of events, and the birthway of the world-famous chansonnier will be as memorable in Armenia as it will be in France.
