"Peace deal chances are slim" -- Pashinyan will travel to Brussels

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Thursday, May 11 that he has not changed his mind and will travel to Brussels, despite Azerbaijan's artillery attack on Thursday.

According to him, Baku's goal is to nullify the progress made in the negotiations.

On May 14, negotiations between Pashinyan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Pashinyan will be held in Brussels with the mediation of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.

"I have not changed my decision to go to Brussels for the Sunday negotiations," Pashinyan said.

However, the prime minister considered the possibility of signing a peace agreement with Azerbaijan on May 14 to be slim.

"Unfortunately, the possibility of signing a peace agreement on May 14 is very small. The draft of the bilateral agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations is still very preliminary. It is still too early to talk about signing it," said the Prime Minister.

He also said that Azerbaijan questions the fundamental agreements reached, which were signed on October 6 in Prague and October 30 in Sochi, stressing that the documents emphasize that Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other's territorial integrity.
