President stresses Armenia’s clear position to achieve peace

PanARMENIAN.Net - On the eve of the International Francophonie Day celebrated on March 20, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with French writer, traveler, journalist Sylvain Tesson, Deputy director of Le Figaro Jean-Christophe Buisson, French-Armenian cellist Astghik Siranosyan and traveler, photographer Antoine Agoudjian.

Welcoming the guests, the President expressed his gratitude for their significant contribution to presenting the reality of the events taking place in Armenia and the region to the world community and stressed that their work is highly appreciated in Armenia.

At the meeting, the guests touched upon the latest regional developments and Armenia's approaches to them. In this context, the President of the Republic stressed that Armenia takes a clear position on achieving stable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus and establishing good relations with all neighboring countries.

During the conversation, the current stage of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, the realities and problems existing in the peace process, as well as ways to overcome them were also on the table.

Over the course of the meeting, the sides touched upon the challenges threatening the Armenian historical and cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh, the danger of its possible destruction as well, and exchanged views on the opportunities of the return of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
