Grigoryan appointed Parakar Mayor after election win

PanARMENIAN.Net - Volodya Grigoryan has officially assumed the position of head of Parakar consolidated community by virtue of law, following the first session of the newly elected council held in the community’s cultural center.

Members of the ruling Civil Contract party were absent from the meeting, continuing their boycott strategy, as previously seen in Gyumri, according to Pastinfo.

Grigoryan, who ran as the Unity alliance’s candidate, won the mayoral seat with 57% of the vote in the March 30 snap municipal elections, defeating the ruling party’s candidate.

He is set to formally begin his duties on April 19, the third working day after the council session. The community’s administrative staff has been tasked with organizing his oath ceremony.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, Civil Contract received 7 council seats, the Unity alliance secured 12, and the National Progress party received 2.
