Constitutional Reform Council reviews NA regulations![]() July 18, 2025 - 18:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A session of the Constitutional Reform Council was held under the leadership of Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan, who chairs the council. The session focused on reviewing constitutional regulations related to the National Assembly. The council will continue to convene regularly. Galyan stated in May that the new Constitution is in the drafting stage and is expected to be ready in ten months. Earlier, the Prime Minister had expressed that there should be no reference to the Declaration of Independence in the constitutional text. Before signing a peace agreement, Azerbaijan is demanding changes to Armenia’s Constitution, specifically the removal of a reference to the Declaration of Independence in the preamble, which mentions the unification of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
