Tigran Avinyan: I was interrogated over ANIF investigation![]() October 23, 2025 - 16:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced that he has already been questioned as part of the ongoing investigation into the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF). Speaking during a press briefing after a government session, he stated that he had shared all relevant information with investigators, Panorama.am reports. “I shared specific financial figures during my three-hour press conference. None of the civil society representatives or investigative journalists responded to the numbers I presented,” he said. Avinyan noted that the figures he disclosed challenged key narratives surrounding the case. “There’s been zero engagement with the data I released—just derivative speculation. It’s unserious,” he remarked. David Papazyan, former director of ANIF, is under a detention order and will be placed on international wanted list, according to Armenia’s Investigative Committee. Avinyan served as chairman of ANIF’s board of directors from 2019 to 2023. Until now, it was unclear whether he had been questioned in the case. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
