UN and Armenia discuss women’s leadership role![]() October 24, 2025 - 18:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - During his working visit to Paris, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Sima Bahous, Executive Director of UN Women. Their discussion focused on promoting women's leadership, with both sides emphasizing the importance of women in post-conflict reconciliation and peacebuilding. The meeting also addressed Armenia’s initiatives aimed at advancing gender equality and empowering women. Mirzoyan also participated in a panel discussion titled “Feminist Foreign Policy for Peace and Security,” held within the framework of the 4th Ministerial Conference on Feminist Diplomacy under the theme “The Time for Peace Has Come.” In his remarks, he noted that, as of 2025, Armenia has closed 73.1% of its gender gap. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
