Joint platform for Armenian, Georgian Mayors proposed

PanARMENIAN.Net - During a working visit to Georgia, Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, met with Georgia’s Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Kakha Guledani. Khudatyan proposed creating a communication platform for mayors from both countries.

The two officials discussed issues related to territorial and local governance, especially the ongoing decentralization of centralized powers. Since Georgia is also pursuing similar reforms, both sides identified common challenges in implementing such changes.

Minister Guledani expressed particular interest in Armenia’s experience with community consolidation, inquiring about its effectiveness and tangible outcomes.

The conversation also covered the implementation of community infrastructure projects and mechanisms for their oversight and monitoring.

Khudatyan proposed establishing a dedicated platform for interaction between Armenian and Georgian mayors, aimed at strengthening and deepening bilateral ties between local governments.
