Yerevan, Luxembourg deepen bilateral ties![]() December 17, 2025 - 11:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia and Luxembourg have signed a joint declaration on strategic partnership, reaffirming their intention to strengthen relations across key sectors, including politics, economy, defense, security, justice, culture, education, and the environment. The declaration was signed by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Luxembourg’s Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. By establishing this partnership, both countries reaffirm their commitment to the core values underpinning their cooperation, including democracy, the rule of law, protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as support for multilateralism and a rules-based international order. The declaration also highlights Armenia’s aspirations to enhance its political, economic, security, cultural, and social ties with the European Union and the broader community of democratic states. Recognizing the importance of deepening Armenia–EU cooperation, both countries will support the establishment of regular bilateral thematic consultations. These discussions will focus on aligning Armenia with EU standards, implementing the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), and advancing the strategic partnership agenda, strengthening sovereignty and resilience, reinforcing democratic institutions, and safeguarding human rights and fundamental freedoms. Armenia and Luxembourg also reaffirmed their readiness to further develop and expand economic and trade relations, prioritizing areas of mutual interest. Acknowledging the challenges faced by Armenia as a landlocked country with limited access to global markets, the parties agreed to enhance cooperation in promoting regional and international trade and transport connectivity. This includes supporting each other’s initiatives, such as Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace project. During their conversation, Mirzoyan and Bettel reaffirmed the high level of political dialogue between Armenia and Luxembourg, emphasizing that it is built on mutual trust, shared values, and common interests. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
