  Simonyan, Matviyenko discuss details of Russia visit January 23, 2026 - 17:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - At the initiative of the Russian side, Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly Alen Simonyan held a phone call with Valentina Matviyenko, Chair of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia. The conversation focused on the upcoming official visit of Simonyan to Russia, scheduled for February 5–6. The parties also discussed other items on the Armenian-Russian bilateral agenda. Simonyan earlier noted that the visit is being planned as a reciprocal trip following Matviyenko’s June 2025 visit to Armenia. During that visit, Matviyenko and Simonyan jointly opened the 39th session of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federal Assembly of Russia and the National Assembly of Armenia.
