Father Garegin Arsenyan, the chancellor of the Aragatsotn Diocese and parish priest of Saint Gevorg Church in Mughni, will remain under house arrest for another month. The decision was made by Judge Davit Dabagyan of the Aragatsotn Regional Court of General Jurisdiction, Aysor.am reports.
The court has allowed him to attend liturgical services and receive Holy Communion every Sunday, but strictly without contact with any other individuals.
He is also barred from visiting any churches in Aragatsotn, and may only attend services in Armavir Province, where he resides.
The court has further restricted him from using mail, making phone calls, or employing any other means of communication, and forbade contact with anyone except close relatives and his legal defense team.
Earlier, his attorney, Petros Petrosyan, stated that the charges against the priest are extremely vague. In October, the Investigative Committee, alongside National Security Service officers, conducted searches at the homes of several clergy in Aragatsotn, including the diocesan residence itself.
