Yerevan, Brussels review strategic partnership agenda

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and European Commission official Gert Jan Koopman discussed advancing cooperation ahead of Commissioner Marta Kos’s visit and the planned Armenia-EU summit.

Mher Grigoryan and Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood at the European Commission, agreed to continue joint efforts to strengthen cooperation in preparation for the visit of EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos and the Armenia-EU summit.

The meeting was also attended by Adrien Kiraly, Director for Eastern Neighbourhood and Institution Building at the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, and Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos.

The sides discussed issues related to the implementation of the strategic agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, placing particular emphasis on the full implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.

Grigoryan and Koopman also exchanged views on regional connectivity initiatives, referring to the “Crossroads of Peace” project. They further reviewed joint work carried out within the framework of the Economic and Investment Plan.

The Armenia-EU summit is scheduled to take place in May 2026 in Yerevan.
