Papikyan highlights diplomacy in Iran tensions![]() February 25, 2026 - 18:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan, who is in Tehran, discussed issues related to regional security and stability during a meeting with Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani. Papikyan stressed the need to resolve the situation surrounding Iran through diplomatic means. The interlocutors also addressed the security environment around Armenia and Iran. They further discussed the current course of Armenia-Iran bilateral cooperation and prospects for its development. During a meeting in Tehran, Papikyan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the importance and necessity of continuously developing high-level relations between Armenia and Iran, as well as strengthening peace and stability in the region. Papikyan conveyed warm greetings from Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the Iranian president. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
