Pashinyan says TRIPP creates opportunities for EU

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan outlined the TRIPP initiative in Poland, saying the railway project across Armenia would connect regions and expand opportunities for the European Union.

TRIPP will create new opportunities also for the European Union, he said at the Polish Institute of International Affairs during a meeting with foreign ambassadors, diplomats and representatives of analytical centers in Poland.

He also spoke about the signing of a peace declaration between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting that without the participation, personal engagement and initiative of the U.S. president, the peace process would have remained uncertain.

“It is very important to note what will happen now and what the Trump Route for international peace and prosperity is. It is an investment project in Armenia that will include a railway across Armenian territory, connecting East and West, including linking mainland Azerbaijan with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, and opening a southern railway connection for Armenia.

Of course, it will also create new opportunities for the European Union, because, as you know, due to the geopolitical situation we are currently facing a crisis in global supply chains. The Trump Route, which is a very important part of the Armenian government’s ‘Crossroads of Peace’ project, will create a new road and a new supply route from East to West, from the European Union to Central Asia and from Central Asia to the European Union,” Nikol Pashinyan said.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington confirmed a document on Armenia–U.S. joint work within the framework of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) program.

The published document on TRIPP implementation describes the procedures for launching the initiative. This framework does not create and is not intended to create legal commitments or obligations for Armenia or the United States.
