Rubinyan dismisses Balasanyan’s union state proposal

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s National Assembly Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan said former Artsakh Security Council Secretary Vitaly Balasanyan and people like him will never witness Armenia losing its independence again.

Rubinyan made the remarks in a video address on Facebook, responding to Balasanyan’s statement that Armenia should become part of a union state.

“The former secretary of the Security Council of Karabakh, who literally handed over Karabakh and fled to Yerevan and is now an active supporter of a Russian oligarch, Vitaly Balasanyan, went to the church courtyard, expressed support for Ktrich Nersisyan and, no more and no less, said that Armenia should become part of a new Soviet Union, as it was 100 years ago.

Vitaly Balasanyan, of course, has hit his head against the wall, but that is not the point. He and people like him will see the backs of their heads, but they will never again see Armenia lose its independence. We will not allow that.

But I want to understand — what kind of people are you? Are you betraying the blood that has been shed? So many people over so many years have shed blood, sacrificed their lives for Armenia’s independence, and you come and so easily say that Armenia should give up its independence,” he said.

Rubinyan added that on June 7, all forces “acting against Armenia’s independence should be sent to hell or any other place of their choice.”

Earlier, Vitaly Balasanyan had said that the geopolitical map would soon change and that Armenia should join a union state, Panorama.am reported.

“The political map will change in the near future. Those who quickly understood their place, role and significance, who realized the emerging world order, will be saved sooner. To put it simply — the Caucasus will move north. Our policy should be toward the south, we must maintain very good relations with Persia, and we must be part of a union state, just as the Soviet Union existed 100 years ago. What they will call it now, I do not know,” Balasanyan said.

Balasanyan also stated that no one has the right to interfere in the church’s internal affairs and that “Pashinyan must come to the church courtyard, repent and ask forgiveness from God and the clergy.”
