Armenia selects performers for Slavianski Bazaar 2026![]() March 16, 2026 - 12:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has selected the performers who will represent the country at the Slavianski Bazaar 2026 international music festival. The national final of the annual competition for children and young performers was held on March 14. According to the contest rules, singers aged 8–14 competed in the children’s category, while performers aged 18–31 took part in the young performers’ group, 1lurer.am reported. As a result, 10-year-old Alexa Vardanian will represent Armenia in the international children’s performers competition at Slavianski Bazaar 2026, scheduled for July 9–12 in Vitebsk, Belarus. In the young performers’ category, Armenia will be represented by 22-year-old Liana Danielyan. Alexa Vardanian studies at the Tchaikovsky Music School and also practices dance. She placed second at The Voice of the World Armenia competition. She won both the Grand Prix and first prize at the Armenian Colors contest in France and also received first prize at the International Festival Greece’s Hope competition in Greece. Liana Danielyan graduated from the Yerevan State College of Culture and Arts named after Charles Aznavour and also studied at the State Theatre of Song. She is currently a third-year acting student at the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema. Danielyan previously took part in the Sanremo Junior international competition and won second prize. During the national selection round, contestants performed songs of their choice. The professional jury evaluated their vocal abilities, stage presence and overall performance. The jury of the Armenian national final, chaired by Honored Artist of Armenia and singer Gayane Hovhannisyan, selected the winners from among the participants who received the highest scores. Before the announcement of the winners, all contestants received participation certificates from the organizing committee. Ara Aivazian said Azerbaijan continues the traditions of Turkey after seizing territories and forced Armenians out. The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest. She called on others to also suspend their accounts over the companies’ failure to tackle hate speech. Penderecki was known for his film scores, including for William Friedkin’s “The Exorcist”, Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining”. Partner news |
