Sinanyan: no unusual influx of Iranian Armenians

PanARMENIAN.Net - There is no unusual influx of Iranian Armenians into Armenia, Armenia’s High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan said during a briefing with journalists.

According to him, authorities are constantly trying to maintain contact with Armenians living in different parts of Iran, although it is not always possible, RFE/RL reports.

“From time to time, we manage to get in touch, but mostly we cannot,” he said, adding that many people have remained in their homes, trying to avoid missile and other strikes.

Reports about problems with internet access in Iran have been circulating since the beginning of the war.

Sinanyan also said that information had been received about two Armenians sustaining minor injuries, though these reports have not been officially confirmed.

In recent days, citizens of various countries have been leaving Iran through the border crossing with Armenia.

The United States and Israel continue their attacks on Iran, while Tehran has been targeting Israel and Middle Eastern countries hosting U.S. military bases in response.
