Aram MP3, Iveta Mukuchyan win Khaz awards![]() March 30, 2026 - 12:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 29, the second Armenian music awards ceremony Khaz took place at the Karen Demirchyan Complex, where the Armenian National Music Academy presented awards in 18 categories to artists and projects. Iveta Mukuchyan was named Best Pop Female Artist. Aram MP3 won in the Best Pop Male Artist category, Armenpress reports. The song “Take Me Home” by Sona Rubenyan was recognized as Best Song. At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Daniel Danielyan presented the Khaz special award to Ohannes Tchekidjian — artistic director and chief conductor of the Armenian National Academic Choir, National Hero of Armenia, and People’s Artist of the Armenian SSR. Danielyan emphasized that many devoted figures have shaped Armenian culture and continue to stand beside us, earning deep gratitude, adding that Tchekidjian is a man of the century. “It is impossible to describe in words everything he has done throughout his life. His life has been devoted to sound and song. He created culture, shaped ways of thinking, and gave generations a new standard of creativity. The choir he leads has long become an entire system of values. Perhaps his small secret is the ability to unite people into one breath, to create harmony, to captivate hearts, to move and inspire,” the deputy minister said. According to Danielyan, Chekijyan’s name has long transcended time, and his legacy continues to live and resonate. Arsen Soghomonyan won Best Classical Male Artist, while Juliana Grigoryan was named Best Classical Female Artist, recently appearing as Nedda in the premiere of the opera “Pagliacci” at the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. The project “Symphonic Hayko: Under the Open Sky” was named Best Classical Project, while the ballet-oratorio “David of Sassoun” won Best Musical Project and Production. Brunette’s “Love Reversed” was recognized as Best Album. In the Best Music Video category, the award went to Sona Rubenyan’s “Vardavar Is Coming,” directed by Arthur Manukyan. Simon was named Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Representing Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest this year, he thanked those who believed in him and his twin sons, noting their взгляды motivate him to reach new heights and dedicate his victories to them. Karen Sevak Production received the award for Best Instrumentation (Non-Classical) for the arrangement of Sirusho’s song “Heart.” Martin Ulikhanyan was named Best Composer. Winners received the unique Khaz award, created by sculptor and artist Arman Nur. The ceremony was directed by Hrach Keshishyan, Nairi Stepanyan, and Arthur Manukyan. The Khaz awards were held in the format of international ceremonies. The event began with a formal red carpet attended by leading representatives of the music industry. The awards were organized by the Armenian National Music Academy with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia and the Yerevan Municipality.
