Prosperous Armenia seeks recount of election results![]() June 8, 2026 - 16:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The election headquarters of the Prosperous Armenia Party has announced that it will request recounts, use all available legal mechanisms, and pursue the investigation of alleged electoral violations. The statement was made by party spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan on Facebook. “Since yesterday evening, we have been witnessing various arithmetic manipulations related to the votes received by the Prosperous Armenia Party. During the vote-counting process, one figure was displayed on the Central Electoral Commission’s website, while each subsequent update showed a different figure, and in particular a lower one,” she wrote. Tonoyan added that the party is currently finalizing the list of polling stations where recounts will be requested and is also examining the grounds for challenging individual decisions and actions. “At the same time, this in no way excludes the possibility of contesting the election results, given the enormous scale of electoral violations that we observed throughout the entire electoral process,” the statement said. According to the latest preliminary results, votes were distributed as follows: Civil Contract — 49.825%, Strong Armenia — 23.281%, Armenia Alliance — 9.934%, and Prosperous Armenia — 3.996%. Under these figures, Prosperous Armenia does not surpass the 4% electoral threshold required for parliamentary representation. Earlier figures had indicated that the party had reached 4%. Later, Vahagn Hovakimyan stated that it remains unclear whether three or four political forces will ultimately participate in the distribution of parliamentary mandates. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
