Party cites administrative pressure and violations![]() June 8, 2026 - 18:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Strong Armenia Alliance is currently engaged in analyzing the situation and working to clarify what it describes as the genuine expression of voters’ will. Once that process is completed, the alliance will present its position and further steps, according to a Facebook statement by party spokesperson Marianna Ghahramanyan. She stated that the pre-election period was marked by what the alliance considers “targeted actions, mass unlawful detentions, and criminal prosecutions” directed against the political force’s leader, candidates, supporters, and team members. According to the statement, these actions were aimed at limiting political competition and influencing voters’ free expression of will. Ghahramanyan also argued that administrative resources were widely used on election day, involving state and municipal mechanisms that, in her view, sought to predetermine the outcome of the vote. “Numerous electoral violations were recorded on voting day, and reports of such incidents were received throughout the day from across the country. These circumstances could not have failed to affect both the electoral process and its results. In addition, an unprecedented situation occurred: before the Central Electoral Commission had processed the results from all polling stations, Nikol Pashinyan announced ‘victory and the formation of a sole-party government,’ which was a direct signal and instruction to the CEC. Under these conditions, the published figures cannot reflect the real picture and cannot be accepted without a thorough examination and legal-political assessment,” the statement said. The alliance indicated that it is continuing its review of the election process before announcing its next course of action. According to the preliminary results of the June 7 National Assembly elections, the vote distribution was as follows: Civil Contract — 49.825%, Strong Armenia — 23.281%, Armenia Alliance — 9.934%, and Prosperous Armenia — 3.996%. Under these updated figures, the Prosperous Armenia Party does not clear the 4% electoral threshold required for parliamentary representation. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
