Election irregularities called extensive

PanARMENIAN.Net - Strong Armenia parliamentary candidate and constitutional law specialist Gohar Meloyan stated on her Facebook page that alleged election violations were “extensive and diverse.”

She presented several numerical data points in support of her claims.

“26.02.11 – Ministry of Internal Affairs Migration and Citizenship Service certificate: total number of voters – 2,489,031

26.05.23 – Ministry of Internal Affairs Migration and Citizenship Service certificate: total number of voters – 2,473,445

26.05.31 – Ministry of Internal Affairs Migration and Citizenship Service website: 2,485,224

25.06.08 – Central Electoral Commission protocol: total number of voters – 2,507,216

According to official sources, we have also identified 689 addresses where between 20 and 303 citizens are registered at a single address.

According to preliminary results of Armenia’s June 7 National Assembly elections, the vote distribution was as follows: Civil Contract – 49.825%, Strong Armenia – 23.281%, Hayastan Alliance – 9.934%, Prosperous Armenia – 3.996%. Under these updated figures, Prosperous Armenia has not cleared the 4% threshold required for political parties.
